Schools score big on store's payback plan

Credit card purchases have paid off for three area schools.
Through Target stores' "Take Charge of Education" program, families, teachers and members of the community can designate an eligible K-12 school to receive approximately one percent of credit card purchases throughout the year.
Since being introduced in 1997, the program has raised over $200 million for schools nationwide, officials said.
Locally, two private schools and one public school recently received checks from the Goldsboro Target, to be used for school and classroom needs.
Wayne Country Day School received a $761 check, while Wayne Christian's check was in the amount of $410, and Eastern Wayne Elementary School was awarded a $247 check.
