Museum's USO exhibit now has Johnny Grant photos

There is only one week left to remember the USO at the Wayne County Museum.
The exhibit ends Sept. 17.
The museum, which is located at 116 N. William St., was originally the Woman's Club building, which was rented out to the United Services Organization, or USO, in August 1942.
The exhibit includes artifacts kept through the years by people who attended the activities held for the troops who returned from the battlegrounds of World War II.
During that time, a Wayne County native, Johnny Grant, was doing the USO shows with Bob Hope.
Grant, who is now the honorary mayor of Hollywood, sent memorabilia from his trips to the museum for the USO exhibit. They arrived recently and are now on display with the rest of the remembrances.
Museum manager Johnna Nelson said the new arrivals include loaned original 8-by-10 photos showing Grant with the troops and stars like Hope and Angie Dickinson.
