Habitat for Humanity of Goldsboro-Wayne and First Baptist Church of Goldsboro will break ground Wednesday at 9 a.m. at 1305 Franklin Court.

First Baptist Church of Goldsboro has been a strong advocate and supporter of Habitat since the affiliate began in 2001, said Sherry Archibald, Habitat's development director.

"Because of their commitment, two other Habitat houses have been completed, and several members of their congregation have become consistent volunteers at the worksite," she said.

First Baptist is working with the United Way of Wayne County's Days of Caring operation. The Franklin Court house is one of two Mini Blitz Builds scheduled for the Days of Caring, which will be held from Sept. 14-22.

Those interested in volunteering at a Habitat house being built during the Days of Caring can sign up at the following Web site www.volunteersolutions.org/uwwc/volunteer. For information, call Ms. Archibald at 736-9592 or visit the organization's Web site at www.habitatgoldsboro.org.
