Armed robbery
suspects sought
Goldsboro police are investigating two armed robberies that happened over the weekend.
The first was reported 9:35 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot in the 1700 block of East Holly Street. Cronston Leroy Best, 36, of South Best Street, told police that two men approached him, pulled out a handgun and demanded money. Best handed the men all of his jewelry, valued at $1,490, and $300.
The second was reported 10:42 p.m. Sunday at Central Park restaurant on E. Ash St. Two employees were inside the store when two men entered the store and robbed the pair at gunpoint. The suspects then fled with an undetermined amount of money. The suspects were last seen in a tan van heading south.
Thefts
*Marian Cotton reported someone broke into her home in the 600 block of North Pineview Avenue and stole jewelry, a 19-inch television, an air conditioner and a 24-pack of Pepsi, all valued $793.
*Ashley Lynette Strickland reported someone broke into her home in the 1000 block of Maple Street and stole jewelry, Sony PlayStation 2, DVD player and clothing, all valued at $975.
*Rick Leon Cauthen reported someone entered his vacant rental property in the 500 block of Wilmington Ave. and stole a refrigerator, valued at $700.
*Jenna Faircloth reported someone entered her SUV parked on Norwood Avenue and stole a Sirius radio, cell phone and wallet, all valued at $756.
