Drug charges

The Goldsboro-Wayne County Drug Squad confiscated nearly $8,000 during a drug arrest involving a Goldsboro man last week. Tyquan Neco Taylor, 30, of N.C. 111 North, was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell and deliver, sell and deliver cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm by a felon. He was placed under a $5,000 bond.

Marijuana seized

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office helicopter was used to find five marijuana plants in the Hood Swamp Road area. The plants would have had a street value of $6,000, sheriff's officials said.

Copper theft

A LaGrange man was charged in connection with a tools and copper wire theft case that occurred at Mastec Inc. in LaGrange last month. Jesse Michael Eriksen, 17, of Forbes Street, was charged with larceny and possession of stolen goods, Wayne County Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Robert Chunn said. The LaGrange Police Department and Lenoir County Sheriff's Office assisted in the investigation. A warrant for Stacey Earl Reid, 31, has been issued. Some of the stolen property was recovered.

Theft

Willie Russell Banks reported someone stole a laptop computer, valued at $500, from his home in the 200 block of Windsor Drive.

Charges

The Wayne County Sheriff's Department filed these charges:

*Dani Oneil Boyd, 51, N.C. 222, Stantonsburg, no insurance, unlawfully passing an emergency vehicle.

*James Edward Brock, 49, Chestnut Street, Mount Olive, simple assault, $500 bond.

*Derek Eugene Lewis, 26, Peachtree Drive, failure to appear, $500 bond.

*Clifton Earl Teachey, 37, Morgan Circle, Dudley, communicating threats, written promise, hit and run, leaving the scene of an accident, no insurance, $500 bond.

*Gerguan Alexander Brewington, 23, Rose Street, failure to appear, $20,000 bond.
