Investigations
The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating these reports:
*A black man who appeared to be in his 30s robbed The Pantry at 1601 E. Ash St. early Sunday. The clerk said the man came into the store with his hand under his shirt, saying he had a weapon. She said the man stole an undetermined amount of money from the safe and the cash register. And after she gave him the money, she said, he hit her in the face.
*Rose Forte of East Elm Street said a man she knows drove to her house, stopped and shot at her and her companion, grazing the man on his arm.
*Thieves broke a window to gain entry to a Pine Street house owned by Rodney Pendleton of Live Oak Drive and stole $750 worth of items, including kitchen cabinets, 34 feet of copper wire, a pedestal sink and a 50-foot extension cord.
*About $3,400 worth of siding and tools were stolen from a house on Carolina Street. The owner, Jeffrey Stout of Union Grove Church Road in Fremont, said entry was gained through the rear door.
*Somebody did $500 worth of damage to break into Sensational Tanning at 321 N. Spence Ave. to take the register and the cash in it, which came to a total of $300.
