Armed robbery
Goldsboro police are searching for a man who robbed Kangaroo convenience store at 1601 Ash St. at gunpoint and left with an unknown amount of cash.
Doreen Olsen, a store clerk, told police that a man entered the store at about 10:30 p.m. with a gun and demanded money. The man grabbed the cash and then left. The suspect was described as a black male about 30 to 40 years old. He is about 5 feet 6 inches tall and has a medium build. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.
Anyone with information is asked to call Goldsboro-Wayne Crime Stoppers at 735-2255. Residents can remain anonymous and could receive a cash reward of up to $1,000 if their information leads to a felony arrest.
Sexual assault
A 14-year-old Dudley girl told Wayne County sheriff's deputies on Friday that she was sexually assaulted by a cousin who lives in Fayetteville. The incident occurred when she was about 7 or 8 years old, she said.
Thefts
*Samuel E. Rabban reported someone stole a heat pump, valued at $3,000, from a vacant home he owns in the 1000 block of Old Mount Highway.
*Reggie Wayne Smith reported someone broke into his home in the 100 block of Marie Avenue and stole a red envelope, which contained about $4,600 cash.
Break-ins
*Juan Augusto Choroj-Jiatz told Goldsboro police someone broke into his home in the 800 block of First Street on Friday and stole a men's watch a a men's gold chain with a pistol charm, all valued at $800.
