The North Carolina Emergency Reserve is seeking to expand its personnel roster and is offering membership to anyone interested in serving their community and state during disasters.
The all-volunteer corps is open to anyone age 18 and older.
The aim of the organization is to offer free training to members so that the state will have a force prepared to go into action during a disaster.
New units are being formed around the state. Units work with local and state government agencies during emergencies.
