Students recognized for high test scores

High SAT Scores qualified 19 Wayne County Public Schools seventh graders for state recognition in the Duke Talent Identification Program, or TIP. After scores were tallied, the students' test scores put them in the top 25 percent of the talent search pool, which was made up of more than 6,000 middle school students from 16 states.
Students were eligible to participate in the Duke TIP program after scoring in the 95th percentile on the national norms of a standardized achievement, aptitude or mental ability test in an approved subtest category.
The Duke TIP program works to help identify and support academically gifted students across 16 states. Since 1980, Duke TIP has been a world leader in identifying academically talented students and providing innovative programs to support the development of their optimal potential.
Students from the six middle schools across the county recognized include:
*Greenwood Middle: Lyndsey Dean, Alexi Griep and Ali Zain
*Eastern Wayne Middle: Christopher Newsome, Luke Robert, Wesley Stewart and Steven Taylor
*Norwayne Middle: Kendrick Forte, Kayla Grant, Brianna Holland, Hunter Jones, Katlyn Lancaster, Ronnie Person and Cameron Taylor
*Rosewood Middle: Nathan Huyser, Sarah Moore, David Taylor and Kiley Walker
*Spring Creek High: Kaylar Fullington.
