KINSTON -- The conference and training facility at the N.C. Global TransPark is getting a new name.
Formerly called the Education and Training Center, the 33,000-square-foot facility will soon be called TransPark Center to more directly associate it with the GTP.
GTP Executive Director Darlene Waddell said the name change also coincides with an expanded marketing program designed to better inform businesses in Eastern North Carolina about the TransPark Center's capabilities.
Since the former Education & Training Center opened in 2000, more than 100,000 people have used its various training facilities, and up to 1,400 people per month are now using it, she said.
The TransPark Center features a large auditorium, a variety of computer-equipped classrooms, a high-ceiling training bay with reinforced floors, a fully-equipped dining area and ample parking. The Advanced Machining Center offers state-of-the-art precision machining, metal forming and computer-aided design. In addition to training of many types, Ms. Waddell said the TransPark Center is adaptable to a wide range of conferences, group meetings, workshops and trade shows.
