Argument resuults in stabbing, then death

One U.S. Air Force airman is dead and another man is in custody after a brawl that erupted Super Bowl night at a Kendall Lane home over a missing $20 bill.
Vincent Wright, 43, of Pony Drive, Pikeville, died early this morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital from knife wounds he received late Sunday in a fight with Jamal Wilson, 43, of Kendall Lane.
Wilson was still at 105 Kendall Lane, where the stabbing took place, when Wayne County sheriff's deputies arrived. He was immediately taken into custody without further incident, officials said.
The incident unfolded when Wright went to his sister, Andrea Wright's home, after he was called about a family dispute at that location, Wayne County Sheriff's Office Chief Investigator Capt. George Raecher said.
Wilson, Ms. Wright's boyfriend, allegedly assaulted Vincent Wright's brother, Dwayne Wright, 41, over an allegation $20 had been stolen. A confrontation between Vincent Wright and Wilson later ensued.
During the confrontation, Vincent Wright was stabbed, Raecher said.
Deputies and Wayne County Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the home at about 11:25 p.m. Sunday after receiving a 911 call about a stabbing.
Upon arrival, officials found Vincent Wright unresponsive and CPR was administered. EMS transported the victim to Wayne Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, Raecher said.
Wright was a master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. He had more than 20 years of military service, officials said.
Wilson now faces a murder charge in connection with Vincent Wright's death. He was being held at the Wayne County Jail without bond. His first appearance is scheduled for later today.
