Alleged dealer gets jail sentence

Twelve jurors put an alleged dealer's drug peddling operation out of business after they found him guilty of selling more than 250 grams of cocaine to another man in October.
It only took jurors about an hour and 15 minutes Wednesday to find Rigoberto Rosales-Villa, 30, of Nick Drive, guilty of trafficking in cocaine by possessing, delivering, selling, and also conspiracy. The jurors found Rosales-Villa not guilty of trafficking in cocaine by transporting.
The charges stem from allegations Rosales-Villa was trafficking in cocaine when he allegedly sold 254 grams of the white, powdery substance to Terrell Mack Edwards on Oct. 6.
Rosales-Villa was charged after a drug stop and a search of his vehicle and home, officials said.
Wayne County Superior Court Judge Jerry Braswell sentenced Rosales-Villa to 70 to 84 months in prison and ordered him to pay a $100,000 fine. Rosales-Villa was sentenced to a consecutive term of 70 to 84 months in prison and ordered to pay a $100,000 fine for another case.
Wayne County Assistant District Attorneys Jan Kroboth and Sandy Meyer presented the state's case. Sgt. Dan Peters of the Goldsboro-Wayne County Drug Squad was the lead prosecutor in the case.
