Wayne Community College Continuing Education will offer a course to train emergency medical technicians (EMT) starting Feb. 5.

The 21-week EMT-Basic course prepares students to take the examination for state certification. Classes will be held Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 to 10 p.m. in Room 130 of the Pine Building.

Students can register and pay the $65 registration fee at the first class session. The textbook can be purchased in the college bookstore.

A copy of the student's high school diploma or General Educational Development certificate must be provided in order to register for this class. If the student has neither, the college's reading placement test must be taken in advance of the first class. Call the WCC Admissions Office to schedule the test.
