MOC professor will speak on his tour of duty in Afghanistan

MOUNT OLIVE -- A Mount Olive College professor stationed in Afghanistan is returning to the area next month and will give a talk about the war.
Dr. Ted Janicki., assistant professor in the Tillman School of Business at Mount Olive College, also serves in the Air Force Reserves. Since being deployed in July 2006, he has continued to teach online classes for the college. He even taught a seated business communication course that enabled five of his fellow airmen to complete their Community College of the Air Force Association degrees.
His lecture, on the past, present and future of the "War on Terror," is free and open to the public. It will be Feb. 16 at 1 p.m. in the Southern Bank Auditorium in Raper Hall.
Captain Janicki said steady progress is being made in Afghanistan. He added that he will discuss that progress along with the numerous challenges that remain in providing the government of Afghanistan with the long-term capability to be able to take care of its people.
