Investigations
Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating these reports:
*Two construction workers were reportedly robbed Sunday at gunpoint in the 1200 block of Genoa Road in Dudley. Tereso Arredondo and Colunga Jose Gonzalez, both of Raleigh, reported Jan. 7 someone stole money, their IDs, a cell phone and other items, all valued at $1,570. A resident reported Jan. 8 that someone set fire to a gray 2001 Dodge Stratus also owned by Arredondo. The fire caused $4,500 in damage.
Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:
*Dexter Rouse reported Jan. 8 someone attempted to use his checking account to pay a $1,468.55 U.S. Cellular phone bill. The money was scheduled to be deducted from his account, but there was not enough money in his account to cover it. Rouse learned about the attempted theft when he received an insufficient funds notice from his bank.
