Investigations
Wayne County Sheriff's deputies are investigating these reports:
*Shelby Duffy Benton reported Jan. 3 that someone broke into her home located in the 600 block of Mill Road and stole a 9 mm Glock pistol and several diamond rings, with a total value of $7,250.
*Pamela Joyce Price reported Jan. 3 that someone stole several statues and other items, valued at $130, from a gravesite in Pineview Cemetery.
Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:
*A clerk at the Best Western on U.S. 70 bypass, reported that someone fired five gunshots into Room 151 while it was occupied by Anthony Howard, 22, of Quail Drive. Howard told police that he did not know why someone would want to shoot at him. No injuries were reported.
*Someone passed a fake $100 bill at K-Mart.
