WCDS student is Morehead semi-finalist

Byron Bryan of Mount Olive, a senior at Wayne Country Day School, has been named a semi-finalist for the prestigious Morehead Scholarship at UNC-Chapel.

He is among 252 semi-finalists selected and will interview in January.

The Morehead program provides a full four-year undergraduate scholarship to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Byron has been named to the the headmaster's high honor roll with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.95, is a member of the National Honor Society, the French National Honor Society, the International Thespain Society, and has earned the Eagle Scout badge from the Boy Scouts of America. He is president of the student government association and was president of his class his freshman and sophomore years. He has received awards in soccer and tennis and participated in basketball and golf.
