Maxwell named to Campbell trustees

Hugh Gordon Maxell III has been elected to the Campbell University Board of Trustees.
Maxwell is owner and president of Goldsboro Milling Co. The company and its subsidiaries employ more than 3,000 people and produce approximately 13 million turkeys and 1 million hogs annually.
Maxwell is a Campbell alumnus and the recipient of the 1995 Alumni Service Award for his contributions to Christian higher education and to his community. Maxwell also received Campbell's prestigious Presidential Medallion, given to those individuals whose lives exemplify high moral values and integrity.
A member of First Baptist Church of Goldsboro, Maxwell serves as chairman of the Finance Committee and as an usher. He is also active in his community, serving as chairman of the Wayne County Parade of Friends, a fundraising organization which helped toward the construction of Campbell's Lundy-Fetterman School of Business building.
A wildlife conservationist, Maxwell's efforts have helped to increase the populations of ducks, quail, deer and other wildlife in the state.
He has been a member of Campbell's Presidential Board of Advisors and has served three previous terms as a trustee. He and his wife, Charlotte, have two daughters, Elizabeth Pelletier and Mildred Dysart, and three grandchildren.
