The Wayne County Sheriff's Office detained a home-health nurse who allegedly stole a credit card from one of her client's home and went on a mini shopping spree. Lashaya Monque Cobb, 24, of Hill Loop Road, was charged with financial card theft. She was being held at the Wayne County Jail under $2,000 bond. The victim discovered her credit card missing and later discovered it had been used at seveeral local businesses.
Accidents
*Patrick Kelly, 38, Walnut Ridge Drive, was hurt when a driver identified as Jose M. Bautista allegedly fell asleep at the wheel and was involved in an accident with the motorcycle Kelly's was operating at Berkeley Boulevard and Ash Street early Thursday. Kelly was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital for treatment. Bautista, 22, of S. Slocumb Street, was cited for a stop sign violation. Damage was set at $2,000.
*Stephanie Nicole Horton, 25, of S. Cottonwood Drive, was injured when her vehicle was involved in an accicent with one driven by Philip Andrew Kirby at the corner of Mulberry and Jefferson streets Wednesday afternoon. Horton was cited for a safe movement violation and taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital for treatment. Damage was set at $10,500.
