Clarification

There are two points of clarification in a story that appeared in the Tuesday edition of the News-Argus about the Board of Education naming Shirley Sims as its chairman. The story indicated that all of the men on the board have previously served as chairman. There is one exception. Rick Pridgen, who joined the board in 2002, has not served in that role. Also, Ms. Sims had been nominated for vice-chairman several times in the past but had always declined until she was asked to serve this year.
