Hay fire - surprise blaze closes highway

Firefighters from Nahunta and Polly Watson fire districts work to contain a hay fire on top of a tractor trailer flatbed on N.C. 222 near N.C. 581 Monday. The fire broke out around 1:45 p.m. and caused a portion of N.C. 222 to be closed for five hours. Polly Watson Volunteer Fire Department Chief Tim Kennedy stated that the exact cause of the fire has not been determined.
