Stolen truck sought

Goldsboro police are hunting for leads in a case in which thieves stole a flatbed truck and an antique automobile in October.

Several unknown suspects broke into Bennett's Auto Salvage located at 1406 U.S. 117 South Oct. 25 and stole a red 1999 Freightliner Rollback. The Freightliner bares the tag number NC AP-7466 and the vehicle's identification number is 1FV3GFAC5XHB2997, police said.

The suspects then left Bennett's Auto Salvage and went to Oliver's Truck Center and Salvage next door and stole a 1965 Chevrolet Impala.

"The Chevy is candy apple red. It has fresh paint and lots of chrome," Investigator Dale Foster said. "The vehicle is a two-door and has new interior."

The Chevy's vehicle identification number is 164375Y246350. The two vehicles were last seen in the Raleigh area near South Saunders Street.

Anyone with information about the vehicles is asked to call Foster of the Goldsboro Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division at 580-4217 or Goldsboro-Wayne Crime Stoppers at 735-2255. Callers remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
