Five Wayne County men jailed in Raleigh knife attack

Seven men from Wayne and Duplin counties were charged with assault charges stemming from a knife attack Sunday in Raleigh.
Wake County Jail officials said all of the men were charged with assault with the intent to kill and inflicting serious injury. Those men are Eriberto Zacarias, 16, of Mount Olive, Miguel Angel Crespo, 19, of Warsaw, Luis Abraham Sanchez-Gavino, 21, of Seven Springs, Nelson Arturo Cervantes, 16, of Dudley, Noe Davalos Carrillo, 21, Luis Carlos Carcamo, 17, and Juan Carlos Ponce, 22. Carrillo, Carcamo and Ponce are all from Goldsboro.
The men were apprehended by Raleigh police officers after allegedly stabbing Hugo Novola in the side of the chest near the 800 block of Industrial Drive in Raleigh, officials said. All of the suspects were held in Wake County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail each.
