Mount Olive police officer Mike Pike looks over a car that wrecked this morning when winds from a tornado that passed over the area knocked it off the roadway. Strong winds and heavy rains are blamed for the incident, in which John Kenan of Warsaw lost control of his car at the off-ramp on U.S. 117 and NC 55. Kenan was charged by Mount Olive police with exceeding a safe speed in high winds and heavy rain during a tornado warning. Kenan was not injured during the mishap.
