Man dies in knife attack

One man was killed and three others were wounded during an assault that occurred early Saturday morning in the northeastern part of Wayne County.
Wayne County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to 105 Tindale Place about 12:30 a.m. Upon arrival, the officers discovered four people had been assaulted. Wayne County Emergency Medical Services transported the four victims to Wayne Memorial Hospital for treatment, sheriff's officials said in a prepared statement.
During the visit, one man identified as Jose Enriquez III died in the hospital's emergency room from apparent stab wounds, according to the release.
The age of the deceased, names of the other three victims and the circumstances surrounding the assault were unavailable at presstime.
The investigation into this matter is continuing, Wayne County Sheriff Carey Winders said.
Wayne County Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Mike Kabler is leading the investigation. Detective Sgts. Ray Brodgen and Robert Golimowski assisted in the investigation. Winders, Maj. Ray Smith and Lt. Tom Effler also responded to the incident.
