The public is invited to be part of the process to choose the next president of Wayne Community College.

On Thursday evening, a "community focus group" meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in Room 101 of the Walnut Building.

Residents are invited to attend and help create a profile of the college's next leader. Dr. Parker Chesson Jr. of the executive search firm Gold Hill Associates will be on hand to lead the discussion.

Dr. Ed Wilson, current president at the college, has announced his retirement in June 2007.

Earlier in the month, the college's Board of Trustees met with Martin Lancaster, N.C. Community College System president, to discuss the search process. At that time, a search committee and liaison between the committee and the consultant were also announced.
