Entries in the Princeton Veterans Day Parade are still being accepted.

The event will be held Saturday, Nov. 11, starting at 2 p.m.

The Wayne County Veterans Day Parade will be held the same day in downtown Goldsboro, starting at 11 a.m.

The Princeton event is sponsored by the Princeton Veterans Day Committee.

Lineup for the parade will be held from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. in the Princeton School parking lot. For information about being in the parade, call 919-936-3042 or 919-631-6312.

Veterans and their families are also being asked to bring memorabilia to the event to share with visitors. The display is being sponsored by the veterans organization and Nationwide Insurance. They should be dropped off at the Center Street building from noon until 5 p.m. on the day before the parade. The display will be monitored at all times and items should be picked back up by 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, after the event.

Lineup for the Wayne County Veterans Day celebration, sponsored by the county Veterans and Patriots Coalition, will start at 8:30 a.m. on South Center Street. Coalition President Mike Burris said he is hoping for a big turnout.

"American men and women are serving in horrendous conditions, and fighting and dying in Iraq, Afghanistan and other troublespots," Burris said, "and the least we can do is turn out and honor their service and sacrifice."

More information about the Wayne County parade and ceremony can be obtained by calling the Wayne County Veterans Service Office at 731-1490.
