The city of Goldsboro and the Downtown Goldsboro Development Corp. have designated Tuesday evening, Oct. 31, as the official time for children in the city to trick-or-treat.
And to make the holiday safer and even more festive, city officials have taken steps to provide children and their parents with games and goodies.
More than 40 downtown merchants will be participating in the party, which will start at 4 p.m. at the Pedestrian Plaza on Center Street. Children can enjoy games, prizes, a cup-cake walk, crafts and more. Then, the children will begin the anticipated candy walk downtown and trick-or-treating of all the participating merchants.
Among the things to do at the annual "Boo-It" celebration include a doughnut dipping station, entertainment with UBI the Clown, moon bounce, games with prizes by Balloons & Clowns, face painting, hot cider from the Downtown Deli, mini-pumpkin decorating by Arts & Crafts Station and a 6 p.m. visit to the Wayne County Museum for more candy and ghost stories.
