FAISON -- Artist Heather Williams picked up the prints of her Market Day painting Thursday afternoon for the unveiling ceremony this weekend.

The unveiling will be from 1 until 3 p.m. Sunday at the Southern Exposure Restaurant.

The original is 22x40 inches, and the prints are 12x24 inches. The sale of the special prints during the Market Day Festival on Oct. 21 will help the Faison Improvement Group pay for future festivals. The prints will go for $25 each, and the original will be placed on silent auction for two weeks at the restaurant.

Ms. Williams will also have a booth at the Market Day Festival selling some of her other paintings. Her paintings are very realistic, said Market Day Chairman Lisa Patterson. The Market Day painting portrays a view of the town, from the old produce shed looking down Main Street.

"We will have 150 limited editions. It's absolutely gorgeous," she said.

Ms. Williams also has designed the Market Day T-shirt, which is ready for sale at $12 each.

This will be the third annual Market Day Festival held to honor the area's produce farmers.

The event will feature a cooking contest, to be judged by Southern Exposure chef Joani Babcock.

Entries must be a vegetable side dish for four in a disposable container delivered to the Babcock by 2 p.m. on Oct. 13. First place prize will be a $35 gift certificate and an appearance of the recipe on the menu for two weeks. Second place prize is a $25 gift certificate.

This year's event also will feature a pretty baby contest.

Arts and crafts and children's activities and games will be held all the day. A magician will perform at throughout the day at the Community Building.
