Symphony tickets on sale

Tickets are on sale at the Arts Council of Wayne County for this year's North Carolina Symphony performance of Holiday Pops. The concert will take place Tuesday, Nov. 21, at 8 p.m. at Dillard Middle School.
Presented by the Wayne County chapter of the North Carolina Symphony, this concert provides entertainment for all ages and is the only evening concert appearance by the symphony in Wayne.
The concert will be led by Joan Landry, the symphony's newly appointed assistant conductor. For the past three seasons, Ms. Landry has been asociate conductor of the Honolulu Symphony. A Massachusetts native, she holds a bachelor of music from the New England Conservatory of Music and a masters of music degree from the Hartt School in Connecticut.
The Holiday Pops program will feature a blend of classical works inspired by the season and holiday medleys that are filled with familiar favorites. The conductor will invite the audience to sing along with the orchestra, a tradition of this program.
Advance tickets are $22 for adults, $18 for seniors and $6 for students. Tickets can be purchased at the Arts Council between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. More information can be obtained by calling 736-3300.
