Base hosts terrorism response meeting

If terrorists strike eastern North Carolina, local law enforcement and airmen at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base intend to be prepared.
In an effort to improve reaction time and increase the flow of information in the event of a terror event, local law and base officials will meet today on base as part of the 4th Fighter Wing's Anti-Terrorism week.
During the event, members of the Air Force Office of Special Investigations Detachment 216 and lawmen from across the region will share information. There also will be static aircraft displays of the F-15E Strike Eagle and KC-135R Stratotanker, briefings and firearms simulation training.
New 4th Fighter Wing Commander Col. Steve Kwast also is expected to attend the event, base officials said.
