What to expect next

Wayne County can expect weather conditions to improve as the week goes on, but for the next couple of days should brace for possible stormy conditions, according to weather officials.
Brandon Dunstan of the National Weather Service in Raleigh said while conditions are pretty stationary over central North Carolina at present, there is a flash flood watch out until late tonight.
With an 80 percent chance of storms for the rest of the day, a total of one to two-inch accumulation of rain is expected through tonight.
"There could be very heavy showers at times," he said, dumping up to one-inch of rain in half-an-hour.
The weather service said a frontal area will still be around on Wednesday but is expected to push out of the area, when there is a 50 percent chance of rain and an expected accumulation around one-quarter inch.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday, high pressure will build in the region but Dunstan said things are expected to clear up.
"There'll be nice weather the rest of the week -- temperatures in the mid-80s for highs, mid-60s for lows," he said.
