ECU professor to deliver lecture on immigration

MOUNT OLIVE -- David Griffith, senior scientist and professor of anthropology at East Carolina University, will speak at the Lois K. Murphy Regional Center at Mount Olive College on Friday, Sept. 15, at 7:30 a.m.
He will speak on "Best Practices for Business and Communities: Understanding Recent Immigration Impacts" and the transformation by immigration of rural communities in southeastern North Carolina. The event is part of the Business Breakfast Briefing series sponsored by the college's school of business, which are designed for the business, technology and academic communities.
Griffith's background has been in research. He has consulted for several private organizations, foundations and government adgencies. He has also written several books and evaluated AmericCorps programs across the United States as well as helping AmeriCorps programs develop evaluation plans.

Cost for the breakfast and seminar is $15 in advance, $20 at the door and includes a breakfast buffet and networking session from 7:30-8 a.m. The program runs from 8-9 a.m. There is no charge for MOC business associates.
