WCC student business group seminar September 13

Wayne Community College's Gamma Chi chapter of the Phi Beta Lambda business education student organization and the college's information systems faculty will provide a free seminar on effective leadership on Wednesday, Sept. 13. The presenter will be local author, professor and business leader David J. Rendall.
The session will be held noon to 1 p.m. in Room 101 of the Walnut Building on the college's main campus in Goldsboro. Registration is not required. For more information, contact club advisors Tracy Schmeltzer or Michael Everett at 735-5151.
Rendall is an assistant professor of business at Mount Olive COllege and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in management for several other colleges. He is also the founder of Rendall & Associates of Goldsboro, a consulting firm that specializes in leadership development and strategic planning for businesses and non-profits.
He has written numerous articles and book reviews, as well as the book "The Four Factors of Effective Leadership." During the seminar, Rendall will illustrate the importance of four factors - influence, integrity, inspiration and improvement.
Refreshments will be provided after the lecture. Other lunch-and-learn sessions are planned for Oct. 18 and Nov. 15.
