Investigations
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is investigating these reports:
*Jerry David Stroud of N.C. 55 East, Seven Springs, told investigators Tuesday night that somebody broke into a barn at his home and stole a $425 Remington 870 Express Super Magnum pistol.
*Shelton Douglas Southerland of Billy Price Road, Seven Springs, said somebody entered his 2006 Chevrolet Silverado and took $2,000 in cash, which was inside a leather wallet in the center console. Investigators found no sign of forced entry.
The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating these reports:
*Thieves broke into the home of Onza Lee Brown Jr. on Park Avenue by coming through an unlocked bedroom window and took $100 worth of coins and another $100 worth of clothing and jewelry. Brown told investigators a witness called him at work Tuesday and told him two black men were seen running from his the house.
*Gail Rodgers Lincoln of Winslow Circle told police that she dropped her debit card while pumping gas Monday morning at a convenience store at 2101 Wayne Memorial Drive, and when she realized several hours later that it was gone, she canceled the card's account. But she said by the time she could close the account, someone had used the card to make several transactions totaling $81.47.
*Investigators responded to a report of road rage around 8:30 Tuesday night in front of the victim's neighbor's house. Kevin Hatch of Lee Drive said a motorist got out of his car when he confronted him about speeding in his neighborhood and punched him in the mouth. Leon Maurice McKinney, 40, of Piedmont Airline Road, was later charged with simple assault. He was released on a written promise to appear in court on Oct. 17.
Accident
Goldsboro police charged Nicholas Gray Sullivan of Neal Drive with a safe movement violation Tuesday morning after an accident on Wayne Memorial Drive at the 11th Street intersection. His car was involved in an accident with one driven by Conrad William King of Foxcroft Drive. Total damages to both vehicles was estimated at $10,000.
