Armed robbery

A man carrying a handgun robbed the Friendly Mart on N.C. 111 south abouit 10 p.m. Wednesday night, according to deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office. The robber was described by witnesses as black, about six-feet tall, wearing a red mask, blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. Store employees said the masked man entered the store and shouted that it was a" stick-up." He then walked behind the counter and shoved the gun into the clerk's back before taking the cash in the register and running away.

Kidnapping, larceny

Bobby Game told Wayne County Sheriff's deputies that he drove to a home on the 200 block of Hack Drive in his 1991 white Chevrolet Corsica and entered the home only to be locked in a room and have his car stolen. Game said he was locked in the room by a black man in his 20s Wednesday from 5:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Corsica has an estimated value of $1,500.

School van stolen

Employee of Dillard Academy reported to Goldsboro police that someone stole one of the school's 1996 blue Ford vans some time between 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday and 7 a.m. on Wednesday, driving it through a chain-link fence surrounding the school on the 500 block of West Elm Street. The van has a value of $6,000, Damage to the fence was estimated ata $500.

Assault

Tangelia Leonard told Goldsboro police that she was beaten by a black man in his 20s about 3 a.m. today on the 600 block of Hugh Street. was treated and released from Wayne Memorial.
