Missing person

A 17-year-old Goldsboro girl has been reported missing by her mother, after having earlier dropped the teen off at work on Tuesday afternoon.

Sadie Par-rish of Adler Lane told sheriff's dep-uties she last saw her daughter, Kelli Nicole Williams, at 3:30 when she took her to work at Wilber's Barbecue. When she phoned the business at 9:30, she was told that Kelli had left around 4 p.m.

Miss Williams was described as a white female with short brown hair and blonde highlights, blue eyes, and is 5 feet, 6 inches and 155 pounds. When last seen, she was wearing khaki pants, a white short-sleeved shirt, Wilber's apron and blue and white shoes.

Investigations

Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:

*A $1,600 moped was reportedly taken while parked outside a Center Street business. Anthony Gene Thompson, 42, of South Best Street, said he left the vehicle unsecured in front of a store on Friday afternoon around 4:20 and when he returned it was gone.

*David Simmons of Simmons Technical Services on South Slocumb Street reported the theft of $3,623 worth of copper wire from the business.

Accidents

Animals in the roadway were reportedly the cause of two accidents investigated by Goldsboro police over the weekend.

*Steven Mackeeg Upchurch, 22, Alphonso Walters Road, LaGrange, told police he was traveling on Oak Forest Road around 11:45 p.m. Friday when an unknown animal ran into the roadway in front of him. Swerved to avoid a collision, his vehicle ran off the road and into a ditch, resulting in $4,000 damage to the car. He was cited for a safe movement violation.

*At 2:30 a.m. Saturday, several deer reportedly crossed the roadway on Corporate Drive and one collided with a car driven by Martell Virgil Coley, 21, Hopkins Street. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $1,800.
