With the start of the new academic year at Wayne Community College just around the corner, students still have a few days left to enroll and register for classes.
Fall registration will be held on the college's main campus Aug. 17 from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. and on Aug. 18 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. on Aug. 18.
The fall semester starts Aug. 21.
Before new students can register, they must be enrolled.
Potential students need to submit an application and have all transcripts sent to the college.
They also must take the college's placement tests.
The college admission application, catalog and fall schedule are available by going by the Office of Admissions and Records or online at www.waynecc.edu.
Civilian students can also take classes at the Watkins-Das Learning Center on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. Civilians can register for base classes Aug. 17, 18 and 21 on the main campus. They also must submit a Security Clearance Form by Aug. 17.
Base courses are taught on a condensed schedule so that two eight-week terms are offered during each regular semester.
First-term fall classes on the base run Aug. 21 and run through Oct. 16. The second term is Oct. 18-Dec. 15.
Financial aid is also available. Yvonne Goodman, associate vice president for student services, encourages students to apply but advises that it should be done soon. The website is www.fafsa.ed.gov.
