No wheels
Laura Rouse reported to deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office that an unknown suspect stole the tires and wheels off of her burgundy Ford Expedition while it was parked at the Village Green Shop parking lot. Mrs. Rouse told deputies that the car was parked at the location with the intent of selling it.
Sometime between Sunday at 5 p.m. and Monday at about 6:30 a.m., an unknown suspect stole the Expedition's four BF Goodrich tires, valued at $580, and the tires' four 17-inch rims, which were valued at $800.
Jewelry theft
More than $4,000 in jewelry and goods were stolen from a residence at the 100 block of Allison Drive.
Mark Heckler, Katherine Heckler and Brittany Zamora, who all live at the residence, said that among the missing items were saddle bag liners, Reebok running shoes, a digital camera, and a DVD player.
The jewelry included five necklaces which has gold, diamonds and sapphires, various earrings, two gold wedding bands, one of which had diamonds, and two heart-shaped lockets.
Police were looking for a suspect in the thefts, Martin Zamora, also known as Chewy, who was described as white, 22 years old, 5-feet-7-inches tall and weighing about 230 pounds. He has short black hair, brown eyes, wear corrective lenses and has a scar on the left side of his face. His last known address was 109 Jake Drive.
Break-in
Someone broke into a home on the 200 block of S. Herman St. sometime between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Monday, stealing about $700 worth of goods.
Teresia Melvin, 44, reported to Goldsboro police officers that she returned to her home to find a $180 DVD player, $170 worth of PlayStation 2 games, a $120 pellet rifle and a man's black onyx ring worth $235 missing from her home.
Ms. Melvin said that the doors to her home were secure when she came back and did not know how the suspect entered her home.
Copper stolen
More than 300 feet of copper tubing and an air conditioning unit were stolen from multiple houses along Center Street sometime between July 26 at 1 p.m. and Sunday at 7 p.m.
John Jordan of Houses Resources reported to Goldsboro Police officers that he went to the homes along the 900 and 1000 blocks of Center St. to make repairs. That is when he said he noticed more than 300 feet of copper tubing and the air conditioning system, with a total value of about $5,000, missing.
Local law enforcement officers are investigating a recent series of copper wire thefts in and around Goldsboro and Wayne County.
Car break-in
Maurice Kregal of the 3100 block of Cashwell Drive reported to Goldsboro Police officers that someone broke into his 2000 Buick LeSabre and stole about $2,500 in cash and $1,500 in traveler's checks.
Car stolen
Nikki Holley of Mount Olive said someone stole her 1990 white Toyota Corolla while it was parked in the 400 block of A Street. The car's value was estimated at $1,500.
