Thefts
Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating several break-ins and thefts that involved more than $1,000 in property:
*About $15,000 in property was stolen between Wednesday and Monday from a home in the 100 block of Malcolm Glenn Drive, a report said. The resident, Michelle Ream, reported the theft of clothing, jewelry, two computer towers, about 150 movie videos, a bedroom set, a television, a vacuum and other items. No sign of forced entry was listed.
*An estimated $4,925 worth of property was stolen from an apartment in the 100 block of Forest Knolls Road, deputies said. The property, owned by Cory Tyler Watson, included a laptop computer, a sound system, 50 movie DVDs, golf clubs, a television, video-game equipment, a microwave oven, a combination DVD and video cassette recorder and a coffee table. No sign of forced entry was reported.
*About $1,435 worth of property was stolen Monday after a door was pried open at a home in the 100 block of Cheryl Drive, deputies said. The resident, R.R. King, said the property included a jewelry, a DVD player and $25 in coins. Damage was set at $200.
*A white, two-door 1989 Jeep Wrangler was stolen between Monday and dawn today from the 200 block of Blue Ridge Road near Dudley, deputies said. The owner and resident, Woodrow Jeffrey Turnage, said the keys had been left in the vehicle, valued at $3,500.
*A central air conditioner was stolen between July 18 and Monday from a vacant rental house in the 100 block of Larchmont Circle, deputies said. The unit, owned by Patrick Daniel McGuire of Nashville, was valued at $3,500.
*An eight-foot-by-16-foot utility trailer and license plate were stolen between Friday and Monday from a construction site in the 100 block of Honey Dew Lane near Dudley, deputies said. The owner, William George Coltren of Mount Olive, put a $2,025 value on his property.
Investigations
Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:
*A gun collection was stolen between Thursday and Monday from a home in the 200 block of Ervin Drive, police said. The value of the guns or the number, owned by a former resident, was not immediately known.
*About $1,400 was stolen between Sunday and Monday after a window was smashed and a safe was damaged at Mary's Drive In at 612 W. Ash St., police said. Damages were set at $425.
*About $1,500 worth of copper pipes was stolen between Friday and Monday from the Good Samaritan Clinic at 501 W. Pine St., police said. An employee said he could not get any water and discovered the missing pipes.
