Goldsboro and Wayne County will shut down operations Tuesday, as staff and elected officials observe Independence Day. Most city and county offices will be closed and some services will be delayed.
Goldsboro City Hall and the Wayne County Courthouse will be closed for the holiday. State and federal offices also will be closed.
Goldsboro General Services Director Joe Sawyer said all sanitation collections scheduled for Tuesday will be moved to Wednesday.
Also, the Goldsboro/Wayne Transportation Authority will be operating on a holiday schedule. Officials said the bus service will operate from 9:45 a.m. to 6:45 p.m., and the van service will operate on its normal schedule. Gateway officials request that any passengers requesting the service call and make reservations by 2:30 p.m. Monday.
