Downtown Goldsboro development group seeking new board members

The board of directors of the Downtown Goldsboro Development Corp. is seeking new board members from within the community who share an interest in improving downtown and making it a viable part of Goldsboro.

The board of directors is an active volunteer group that supports a fun, social downtown by helping organize more than 20 events annually, from.

Board members also work with community leaders to increase awareness about issues that affect downtown, including the recruitment of new businesses and the research of funding sources for a variety of improvements. They work actively with existing businesses to retain their satisfaction with their downtown Goldsboro location, and promote downtown interests through various media capacities and marketing strategies,

The board oversees an organization that maintains information pertinent to the history and development of downtown Goldsboro, including historic architectural design renderings of building facades, as well as providing a clearinghouse of resources for building owners to restore or maintain the historic value of their property. The board provides information with regard to federal and state tax credit availability to downtown property owners and developers, and continues to explore new ideas to improve the overall effectiveness of their organization.
