Drug arrests
Goldsboro/Wayne County Drug Squad seized cocaine with potential street value of $10,400 and marijuana with an estimated street value of $750 that resulted in the apprehension of two Goldsboro men.
After an investigation by the Goldsboro/Wayne County Drug Squad and a search of a residence on Workman Street, the men were arrested on several drug charges.
Demond Oneil Pigford, 24, Workman Street, and Omar Deon Vann, 21, Vanderbilt Circle, were charged with one count each of trafficking in cocaine by possession, conspiracy to traffic cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of keeping and selling marijuana. Both were placed in the Wayne County Detention Center under $100,000 secured bond.
Crime Stoppers assisted in the investigation.
Stolen firearm
A 19-year-old Goldsboro man has been arrested and charged with felony possession of stolen firearm, according to the Office of the Sheriff.
Ronnie Nathan Soles, Meadow Lane, was being held under $1,500 bond, officials announced over the weekend. His arrest was the result of an investigation into a breaking and entering case on Pineview Cemetery Road in March.
The stolen firearm was located and Soles was charged. He allegedly pawned the weapon nine days after the break-in. Investigation is continuing and other suspects are being sought, officials said.
Suspicious fire
Wayne County Sheriff's Office was asked to investigate a fire on Falling Creek Church Road Wednesday, which later resulted in the arrest of two Goldsboro teens.
According to officials, an older style wooden stick tobacco barn was destroyed by fire. Detective Sgt. Shawn Harris and Detective Richard Winders responded and conducted a crime scene investigation. Sgt. Harris concluded that the fire had been set intentionally.
Further investigation resulted in two suspects being identified and later arrested in connection with that and two other fires. The other incidents reportedly occurred near the 3800 and 4000 blocks of Stevens Mill Road in April and May, officials said.
Kevin Blake Casey, 17, Selah Church Road, and Jarrett Edward Brogden, 16, Stevens Mills Road, were charged with felony burning of an unoccupied building and two counts of setting fire to grass and woodlands. Both were released to the custody of their parents.
The Grantham Volunteer Fire Department assisted in the investigation.
Burglary
Following an investigation into a Rosewood area burglary earlier in the week, 22-year-old Pikeville man has been arrested by the Sheriff's Office.
Adam Michael Ader of South Washington Street is charged with second-degree burglary and larceny after breaking and entering. Bond was set at $50,000.
A Rosewood resident had reported his residence broken into and a television stolen on Monday. Investigation led to the apprehension of Ader. The stolen property has been recovered and returned to the owner.
Investigation
Carletta Atkinson of East Maple Street told police two vehicles at her residence had been damaged, with $200 worth of damage to windows on each. One of the vehicles had also been entered and an estimated $1,200 worth of CDs were removed.
