Special Olympian wins gold, bronze

Brooke Mayton of Goldsboro won a gold medal in the softball throw and a bronze medal in the 50-meter dash at the North Carolina Special Olympics in Raleigh on Saturday. She is the daughter of Kim and Tony Cameron of Goldsboro and Danny and Cheryl Mayton of Roxboro and the granddaughter of Manny and Mary Miller of Goldsboro and Martha Mayton of Roxboro.
