3 sentenced for series of county break-ins

Three young men have been sentenced in Wayne County Superior Court for their parts in a string of break-ins in Fremont, Eureka and Rosewood in Wayne County and the Mimosa Park and Maplewood sections in Goldsboro.
Mark Christopher Tadlock, 20, of Old Black Creek Road, Fremont, was sentenced to 24 to 32 months in prison after pleading guilty to 13 vehicle break-ins.
Christopher Dale Mooring, 18, of Stan Ray Road, Fremont, was sentenced to 20 to 26 months in prison and probation after pleading guilty to eight vehicle break-ins.
Andrew Wayne Clark, 19, of Stuckey Road, Fremont, was sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to 13 vehicle break-ins, two firearm larcenies and a third larceny charge.
The guilty pleas were negotiated between the District Attorney's Office and the three defense lawyers.
Before they were sentenced, Assistant District Attorney Terry Light presented a factual summary of the cases to the court.
Tadlock was sentenced to four consecutive active terms of six to eight months in prison -- two each for larceny charges, one for a vehicle break-in and the other for 12 more break-ins that were consolidated. He also was ordered to pay $455 to his court-appointed lawyer.
Mooring was sentenced to eight to 10 months in prison for one vehicle break-in and then successive active terms of six to eight months for two other break-ins. He was sentenced to six to eight more months on five other break-in charges that were consolidated. But Judge W. Allen Cobb Jr. of Wilmington suspended the term on condition that Mooring complete 36 months of supervised probation and pay $6.225.57 in restitution, $390 to his court-appointed lawyer and a $300 fine and court costs.
Mooring was credited with serving 179 days in jail before his sentencing.
Clark was sentenced to suspended terms of eight to 10 months and six to eight months for the firearm larcenies, eight to 10 months for larceny and six to eight months for 13 vehicle break-ins that were consolidated. He was placed in 36 months of supervised probation, ordered to pay $390 to his court-appointed lawyer and fined $300 and court costs.
The cases were investigated by Sheriff's Detective Sgts. Shawn Harris and Rick Farfour and Goldsboro Police Investigator Dale Foster.
Three other teens -- Brandon Wayne Hill, 18, of Chestnut Street, Mark Allen Clark, 17, of Stuckey Road, Fremont, and Matthew Lavonne Brantley, 18, of Moye Road, Fremont -- face similar charges in the Wayne County break-ins.
