Investigations
These reports are being investigated by by Goldsboro police:
*Michael Smith said two men stopped him while he was riding on his scooter in the 100 block of South Herman Street and tried to steal it. They assaulted him but were unable to start the scooter and ran away. He was treated and admitted at Wayne Memorial Hospital. The suspects were described as black men in their 30s.
*Carolyn Mooring said someone damaged her vehicle while it was parked at 613 N. Berkeley Blvd. Damage was estimated at $1,000. Police said they have suspects.
*David B. Rogers Jr. said someone shot out the windshield of his car with a BB gun while it was parked at 2804 Cashwell Drive. Damage was estimated at $300.
*Employees of Mel Lewis Trucking on U.S. 117 bypass said someone broke out a window at the business and stole $12 in cash. Damage was estimated at $100.
*Austin B. Cannon of North Virginia Street siad someone broke into his home through a window and ransacked it. Nothing was reported missing. Damage was estimated at $50.
*Employees of Lane Painting & Home Improvement said someone broke into a van owned by the business parked at 620 N. Madison Ave. and stole $125 worth of paint. Damage was estimated at $150.
*Rodonia T. Jimmison of Newport News, Va., said someone used her personal information to open accounts with Bell South and JC Penney. Police said the investigation is continuing.
Accidents
Goldsboro police are investigating these accidents:
*Julie Ann Reed-Butler, 33, of Grantham School Road, Mount Olive, was charged with failure to yield after a two-car accident Friday on Wayne Memorial Drive. Total damage to both vehicles was estimated at $8,000.
*Sarah J. Allen, 26, of Fremont, was charged with failure to reduce speed after an accident Friday on U.S. 70 west near George Street. Total damages were estimated at $5,000.
*Phillip Scott Null, 18, was charged with failure to reduce speed after an accident Friday on U.S. 70 near the U.S. 117 bypass. Total damages were estimated at $5,100.
