Missing person
Dwight Andre Jones, 47, a resident of Salem Lodge on Salem Church Road, is described as black, 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Jones wears hearing aids in both ears, and was last seen wearing a gray shirt, black jeans, white tennis shoes and a black hooded sweatshirt.
Investigations
The following incidents are being investigated by Wayne County sheriff's deputies:
*Kevin David Amory of D.S. Simmons reported an unknown person punctured four tires on a Craftsman lawnmower at a residence on Stevens Mill Road. Damage to the tires was set at $150.
*Aubrey Clifton Smith reported a car stereo stolen from his 1997 Toyota Corolla while it was parked on Wayne Memorial Drive. The stereo was valued at $100.
*Morris Banks Pate and Charlene L. Pate of Vail Road, Pikeville, reported an unknown person breaking into their vehicles, a 2005 Toyota Highlander and 2005 Nissan Altima, while parked at their residence. Missing from the vehicles was more than $800 in items, including a bookbag, compact discs, cell phone, iPod, wallet and motorcycle helmet.
*Angeline Moody of 128 Ruby Road told deputies that an unknown person fired several shots into her home early Saturday morning. Asleep in home were Mrs. Moody, Ken Moody and three children. No one was injured, but over $3,400 in damages were reported to the home.
*Denny Ray Pate of Vail Road, Pikeville, reported a cell phone and .32 caliber revolver stolen from his 2001 Chevrolet Silverado stolen from his unlocked vehicle sometime between Thursday and Friday. Items were valued at $220.
The following incidents are being investigated by Goldsboro police:
*Frankie Warren of Savemore on E. Ash Street reported an unknown person drove off without paying for 9.5 gallons of unleaded fuel, valued at $26.18.
*An unknown person gained entry to a rental property on North William Street owned by J.M. Warrick, and took a dinette set, dresser and 20 pairs of baby shoes, together valued at $340. Entry was gained through an unsecured window, according to a police report.
*Lawerence D. Williams of Pikesville, Md., reported that a person took his wallet, uses his bank card, and returned the wallet.
*Amy M. Allen of Goshen Medical Center on S. James Street reported several patient information records stolen from the facility. Ms. Allen told police that several patients had called to inquire the status of the applications, and the records were not found during a search of the facility.
*Goldsboro police found two small bags of green vegetable matter on the ground at Slocumb Street Friday night.
*Ollie Bell Davenport of Harding Drive reported an unknown person attempted to enter his residence Thursday or Friday by breaking the screen and glass of a back window. Damage was set at $135.
*An unknown person broke into a portable classroom behind the gym of Eastern Wayne Middle School on Central Heights Road on Thursday or Friday. Missing from the classroom were $40 in cash and a pair of scissors valued at $30.
*Atronual Best of Harding Drive reported a back door lock and rear window glass damaged at her residence overnight Thursday. No items appeared to be missing. Damage to the lock and window was set at $225.
Collisions
*Okisha Renee Wells of Taylor Street was treated and released from Wayne Memor-ial Hospital after the 1998 Ford she was driving collided with a 2005 Chrysler driven by Pamela Broadie Powell, 38, of Judy Place. According to a witness, Ms. Wells, 22, passed in a no-passing zone on Royall Avenue. The collision occurred as Mrs. Powell was attempting to make a left turn from Jefferson Avenue. Ms. Wells was charged with passing in a no-passing zone. Damage to the Ford was set at $5,500, while damage to the Chrysler was set at $2,200.
*Margaret Braswell Bell, 63, of Oleander Avenue was charged with failure to stop for a stop sign after the 1998 Lincoln she was driving collided with a 1997 Plymouth driven by Teresa Altman Core, 39, of Devereaux Street. Damage to the Lincoln was set at $3,500, and $2,500 to the Plymouth. The wreck occurred when Mrs. Bell entered the intersection of James and Holly streets, colliding with the vehicle driven by Mrs. Core.
*Harvey Randolph Chesser, 82, of East Ash Street, was charged with a safe movement violation after the 1994 Toyota he was driving collided with a 1997 Ford, a U.S. Postal Service truck driven by Andrew Carl Williams, 45, of S. Claiborne Street. Damage to the Toyota was set at $3,500, while damage to the Ford was set at $1,500. Chesser told police he stopped at a stop sign on Lionel Street before attempting to cross Mulberry Street when he saw the postal service truck approaching on his right. Williams told police he tried to brake to avoid collision, but was unable to do so.
*Damien Demond Simp-son, 26, of Mount Olive, was charged with failure to reduce speed after the 1996 Cadillac he was driving collided with a 2002 Jeep driven by Shannon Leigh Varnell, 32, of East Mulberry Street. Simpson's vehicle rear-ended the Jeep on North Audubon Avenue, near Royall Avenue. Damage to the Cadillac was set at $2,000, and damage to the Jeep was set at $1,000.
*Total damages were set at $4,000 after a 2000 Chevrolet driven by Willard Carlton Thompson of Willard Lane, Dudley, was struck by a 2002 Dodge driven by Jerry Moore Davis, 33, of Kinston. Thompson told police a driver motioned for him to turn from a parking lot onto Berkeley Boulevard, when Davis' vehicle, in another lane, collided with Thompson's vehicle. Thompson was charged with a safe movement violation.
*Jimmy Dale Faulkenberry, 38, of Lancaster, S.C., was charged with a safe movement violation after the freight truck he was driving for H.O. Holding Company backed into a 1998 Cadillac driven by Robert Kenneth Spivey, 64, of N.C. 581, Pikeville. The incident occurred at the corner of Ash and North Carolina streets. Damage to the Cadillac was set at $3,000.
