thefts reported
Goldsboro police are investigating two reports of credit card thefts.
Donna Ann McMurray of Lucama said somebody stole her credit card and used it at several places. She said the credit card company notified her and said the account was automatically canceled due to unusual spending.
Another credit card number was used without permission. Hvong Dinh at Focus Nails, 1312 W. Grantham, St., told police his credit card number was used three times for purchases totaling $79.71. He said on April 6 someone made a $1 Internet purchase with his Capital One card. He said the same person made another Internet purchase on the account on April 7 for $38.98 and on April 9 for $39.73. He said the company listed on his statement was Paycom.net, and company officials refused to provide any information without a subpoena. Dinh said during the time the account was being used the card was in his possession.
Investigations
The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating the following crimes:
*Quashita Shanae Washington told police she returned to her Lincoln Drive home around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning to find her air conditioner upside down in the window. Damage was $100, and she went inside to find items thrown on the floor and moved around. Her driver's license and social security card were also missing.
*Someone tried unsuccessfully to break into the home of Joshua Easley on West Lockhaven Drive by bending the sliding glass door track and door frame on his patio. He told police Friday night that the damage was $50, but the culprits did not get inside the home.
*Someone did $500 worth of damage by shooting into a 1988 Dodge van owned by Ronald Richard Cloud II of Dudley while it was parked at Sid's Showgirls, 1931 N. William St. The shooting occurred around 2:30 a.m. Saturday.
*A clerk at Coors Pharmacy, 1103 Wayne Memorial Drive, told police a black man in his late teens used a forged prescription to obtain $4.66 worth of Lortab pills. He was last seen walking south on Herman Street.
*Someone reportedly took a 10-foot aluminum John Boat from the yard of Ralph Edward Scott on Woodmill Road. The boat, valued at $650, had been last secured around 8 p.m. Wednesday. Scott said he discovered it missing around 8 a.m. Thursday.
*Clifton D. Hill of North Carolina Street Extension told police an unknown person obtained the keys to his 1995 Chevrolet Berretta while it was parked at his home and drove away with it. The car, valued at $3,000, was last secured around 10:30 p.m. Thursday and found missing at 10 a.m. Friday. The vehicle was found and towed to Doug Henry's. No keys were found inside. The owner was notified.
*Sarah Merritt of Evergreen Avenue told police around 1:30 a.m. Friday that someone removed a tire and rim from her 2003 Dodge Durango while it was parked at her home. The tire and rim, valued at $325, were in place around 9:30 p.m. Thursday and were found missing at 7:45 a.m. Friday.
