Host families sought for coming high school year

The ASSE International Student Exchange Programs is seeking local host families for boys and girls from Europe, Asia, the former Soviet Union, Canada, South America, Australia, and New Zealand. Students are 15 to 18 years old and will be coming to the area for the upcoming high school year.
The students are sponsored by ASSE, a non-profit student exchange program organization. Exchange students are well-screened and qualified by ASSE. They speak English and are anxious to learn about this country thorugh living as part of a family, attending high school, and sharing their own cultures and language with their host family.
Host families may select the youth of their choice from extensive student appliations, family photos and biographical essays. Students arrive shortly before the start of school and return at the end of the school year. Each ASSE student is fully insured, brings his own spending money, and expects to share in household responsibilities.

ASSE was established in 1976 as the American Scandinavian Student Exchange by the Swedish Government to organize student exchange programs between Sweden and the United States. Soon Denmark, Norway and Finland elected to participate.
