Drive-by shooting
Four men riding in a 1999 four-door, cream-colored Toyota Camry fired shots into a residence on the 1400 block of Camp Jubilee Road in Seven Springs at about 6 p.m. Sunday, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
The owner of the residence, Donal Strickland, told deputies that the individuals drove by and fired several shots. The bullets caused an estimated $100 in damage to the wall of the home. A phone and recliner seat were also damaged, totaling an estimated $900.
Shootings reported
Lemel Jones, 17, was arrested by Wayne County Sheriff's deputies in connection to two shootings that took place in Dudley at about noon Saturday. At the 100 block of Autumn Court, Tonya Humphrey said someone shot into the home several times.
According to the report, six bullets went through the exterior wall of the home and one bullet caused damage to one of the interior walls of the home. Humphrey estimated the damages at $1,200. A bullet also penetrated the windshield of Humprhey's car, causing $500 in damages.
A few minutes later at the 100 block of S. Running Deer Circle in Dudley, Grace Persky told deputies someone shot into her home. The bullet went through the exterior wall and was found within an interior wall of the home causing $100 in damages.
Persky was being held in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
Also, at about 5 p.m. Saturday on the 200 block of Hereford Dr., Shadeeya Hooper said an unknown suspect fired shots into her home. She told deputies that two bullets went through the exterior wall of the home and one bullet almost struck her as she was sitting on her living room couch. Damages to the walls were estimated at $800. The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is investigating the shooting.
Thefts
*Barbara Whitlock of West New Hope Road told Wayne County Sheriff's deputies that an unknown suspect broke into her home through a window and stole belongings Thursday night or Friday morning. The suspect took a 36-inch television set, a 14-karat gold ring, a bracelet, a wood jewelry box, an 18-inch 14-karat rope chain, a DVD player and a 14-karat gold sapphire bracelet. The items have an estimated value of more than $1,000. Damages to the window were estimated at $400.
*Between 10:45 p.m. Saturday and 3 a.m. Sunday, unknown suspects broke in through the passenger side window of a car parked on the 600 block of N. Berkeley Blvd. Shannon Jones told Goldsboro Police officers that $450 worth in compact discs were stolen and estimated damage to the window at $250. A witness said two suspects drove away in a 1998 two-door Pontiac Firebird. Goldsboro police are investigating.
*Someone entered a home on the 200 block of W. Oak St. between 7:30 p.m. Friday and 10:30 a.m. Saturday and stole about $2,000 in personal property. Shawn Shroeder told police officers that his home was unsecure and unattended and suspects stole a 19-inch TV set, stereo speakers and a stereo system.
*Annie Stephens of South Audubon Drive told police someone broke into her safe and stole $500.
Accidents
*Richard Gondok, 43, was traveling southbound on N.C. 111 when he was hit from behind by Debra Ann Pallamollo's vehicle. Pallamollo, 50, was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital by Wayne County Emergency Medical Service workers. According to the Highway Patrol Report, Pallamollo was charged with failure to reduce speed and driving while impaired.
*While attempting to allude the Goldsboro Police Department and traveling at a high rate of speed, Jordan Eck, 20, rounded a curve while traveling westbound on U.S. 70 and lost control of his vehicle, according to the Highway Patrol report. The vehicle went into a ditch and hit a tree before stopping. Eck was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital by Wayne County EMS workers. The accident occured at about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
